Chess at ACPL

About

The ACPL All Ages Chess Club meets Saturdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Main Library, in Young Adults’ Services on the second floor. Everyone is welcome! Our membership has a wide range of skill levels and ages. There are no fees of any kind, and no obligation to be there on time, or the whole time, or if you can’t make it.

We welcome players of all playing levels, and offer short instructional sessions for beginning and intermediate players. We also hold tournaments at irregular intervals. And, of course, there’s plenty of time to just play an informal game.

  1. Just learned of the Club, and our budding young chess players (ages 7 and 5) would like to come. Are you meeting on 12/15?

  2. Hi Scott,

Yes, there will be a meeting on 12/15. We’re in kind of an up-and-down period, meaning that sometimes there are a lot of people and sometimes next to none, so I can’t guarantee that you’ll have opponents at this point. Also, I’m not sure I’ll be at the meeting this Saturday. But it will take place in Meeting Room C from 10 to noon.
