Summer population explosion

We’re definitely into summer – 20+ showed up for chess club on Saturday, June 27.  There are all kinds of opportunities to play chess, and other games as well … Benjamin taught me Ninja King Cylinder Chess, and then crushed me in my first attempt at playing it.

Beginners are welcome – and fairly often we have someone available to work with them on learning the game.

High School Nationals

Danny had a score of 4.0/7 at Nationals, including a victory over a 2000+ player (Danny is rated 1727 after the tournament). Another Daniel – a sometime member of our group – also had a 4.0/7 result, though with a slightly lower overall finish. Congratulations to Danny and Daniel!
